AirPair
AirPair

Project Description

AirPair is a collection of wireless wearable tether devices that connect you to the people you love. Consists of an Observer and Beacon and works with the smartphone app. When a paired connection goes beyond a set distance, an instant vibration alert happens on the operator’s wearable device. AirPair places an alert onto a dedicated device (patent granted). A smartphone is used only for managing and customizing paired connections. Within this project, UDTech created the concept for data transferring and location determination as well as implemented other steps:

  • Electronic design

  • Industrial design and Prototyping

  • Mobile Development

  • User Interface Design

Devices

AirPair focuses on the prevention of a loss occurrence by directing critical alerts to a dedicated wearable device. This increases reaction time when seconds may count. Beacon sends its location data to Observer to determine the distance between devices. When the Beacon leaves a certain area (when the distance between Observer and Beacon is bigger than allowed), the Observer starts vibrating, thus notifying the user about it. The distance allowed between the Observer and Beacon devices is configured and controlled by the mobile app.

Application

An operator may connect one or many devices for observation. Each relation is called a pairing. Making and managing pairs between devices is easy. From a smartphone app users simply choose who they want to connect to and set preferences. In addition, in the app user is able to review the real-time map where Observer and Beacon markers will move.
